SOLUTION · RECOVER LOST VISIBILITY
You've dropped. Let's understand why before touching anything.
A drop in traffic or rankings doesn't get fixed with patches. First we look at what really happened, then decide what's worth doing.

Brands that have trusted Laika
They call us when traffic is down and nobody agrees on the reason.
A core update rolled over you
And you don't know whether it was the content, the links or the site's overall quality that took the rankings.
You migrated months ago and rankings never came back
The project closed, the site works, and yet traffic stayed below where it was before the change.
Traffic has been slipping slowly for a while
Each report points to a different cause and none of them fully explains the curve you're looking at.
AI summaries showed up in your searches
You still rank in the same places, but clicks collapsed because the answer is already at the top.
Someone changed something and nobody quite knows what
Since then nothing has recovered, and rebuilding the timeline is the first thing to do.
The scope
Recovering visibility starts with an honest diagnosis and ends with a plan your team can execute. We look at the real data (Search Console, analytics, logs, ranking history), separate symptom from cause and rule out the theories that don't hold up.
We don't promise to recover what was lost without first knowing whether it can be. Sometimes traffic went to an AI summary and recovery lives somewhere else.
How we work it
Four concrete areas to understand what happened and decide what gets touched. We don't start fixing anything until the diagnosis holds up.
01
Drop timeline
Reconstruct what happened, when, and what changed right before.
See the detail
- Cross-check of Search Console, analytics, logs and release dates
- Map of Google updates, template changes and migrations
- Timeline that anyone on your team can read
02
Damage segmentation
See where it really hurts and where it is just being dragged down.
See the detail
- Cut by page type, country, device and query type
- Difference between ranking drop and click drop
- Identification of what was lost and what just moved
03
Cause diagnosis
Rule out theories and keep the ones that hold up.
See the detail
- Technical review of crawling, indexing and canonicalisation
- Analysis of quality and usefulness of affected pages
- Evaluation of citations in AI answers and competition
04
Recovery plan
An order of work your team can execute with judgement.
See the detail
- Prioritise the reversible before the structural
- Clear tickets or briefings for engineering and content
- Stop criteria and metrics to know if it is working
Who does it?
A senior profile leads the diagnosis, because separating cause from symptom is what takes the most judgement. MJ leads the strategy, and the specialist team runs the analysis and the execution.
Why Laika?
Plenty of people sell recovery as if it were a recipe.
We start by telling you whether the drop can be fixed and how much of it, before you spend on executing. If the problem isn't where you were told, we say so.
Diagnosis first, spending after
We tell you whether the drop can be fixed and how much of it, before you put budget into executing.
We separate symptom from cause
The click drop is almost never where you see it. We rebuild the timeline until the explanation holds up.
If the problem isn't where you were told, we say so
Even if that means there's no project for us, or that what's needed is something we don't sell.
A plan your team can execute
Phased, with the reversible before the structural, and with criteria for knowing when to stop.
Frequently asked questions
Can you recover the traffic I lost with the last update?
It depends on what it took. Part of what a core update removes comes back when the quality and usefulness of the affected pages is fixed; another part doesn't, because the search itself changed shape. After the diagnosis we tell you which part we believe is recoverable and why.
How long does recovering from a drop take?
The diagnosis closes in weeks. Recovery depends on who executes and on the nature of the problem: technical fixes show up in weeks, content-quality changes usually need several months and sometimes the next update.
And if AI took the traffic, can it be recovered?
That specific click often doesn't come back. What we do work on is being inside the answer, measuring whether your brand is cited, and shifting the target to searches where the click still exists. We'd rather say that than sell you an impossible recovery.
Do you work from the diagnosis another agency already did for us?
Yes, and we review it against your own data before accepting it. If we agree, we say so and save you repeating the work. If we don't, we explain where the difference is and with what evidence.
Tell us what happened
With the date of the drop, the type of pages affected and what you've already tried, we can tell you where we'd start.
Tell us what happened.
We look at it with your data and tell you whether it can be fixed, how much and where to start.
We look at your project before proposing anything. Reply within two working days at most.
